The 90-kilometer forest drive from Kota just after Bilaspur to reach Amarkantak, in the neighboring state of Madhya Pradesh is an experience by itself. There are plenty of chances to see wildlife during this 2-hour drive across the Biosphere reserver. We can expect to reach Amarkantak, a region known to be the mystic heart of India, just by afternoon and in time to catch up with the Jungle safari that will take us through to the core areas of the forest, hoping to catch a sight of the elusive big cat that are plenty in the wildlife sanctuary. The Amarkantak - Achanakmar Biosphere reserve is spread over a whopping 3,300 sq Kms with its core buffer zones extending up to 1,225 sq km. The reserve is thick with dense woods that are Lush green with dense sal trees. Though the chances to spot a tiger purely depends on one's luck the chances are high since it is a relatively undisturbed habitat for the big cats compared with the more commercial and touristy tiger reserves in the region such as the Kanha national park or so. Towards late afternoon we shall be able to check into our forest resort in Amarkantak where you can relax amidst the sounds of the forest and retire for the night.

Mainpat region is the highest situated region in Chattisgarh state and due to the same reason, it enjoys a very salubrious climate year-round. Mainpat is also home to many natural wonders, pristine hills and forests, and pretty waterfalls. We shall begin the day's exploration by visiting the Fish point waterfalls and the Jalpari waterfalls. Followed by which we shall visit a natural wonder called the Daldali shaking ground point, where the entire ground shakes as one jumps on it. Then there is Ultapani point where the water flows upwards to the top of an elevated ground from a lower level. It is also interesting to see that vehicles race by themselves up the elevated ground when left in neutral gear. It seems that gravitational force has made an exception at this point in Mainpat. The ground has a vibrating and wavy effect as people jump on it, giving a very surreal feel to people standing on the ground. After that, we shall visit the Tibetan settlement in Mainpat and the only Apple orchards south of the Himalayas right here in Mainpat, Chattisgarh. After that, we shall visit the Tiger point waterfalls and viewpoint. On the way back we shall stop by to visit the Thinthini Pathar or the music rock, which produces music like that from a musical instrument as one hits it in its various points with another stone. And last we shall stop by the famous Panshdhara waterfalls before returning to our hotel in Ambikapur for the night's stay.
